Oldgillhead September for Vonhuber – Roe

Oldgillhead September for Vonhuber – Roe | Born 31/10/2010

Roe’s pedigree boasts many Show Champions and it came as no surprise that Roe’s show career got off to a great start by qualifying for Cruft’s 2012 at her debut show aged just 7 months! Roe has qualified for Crufts every year since, up until stopping showing in 2016.

Roe was awarded 1st Prize at Puppy Bitch class at Bath 83rdChampionship Dog Show in May 2011 by Breed Specialist Judge Mrs Christine McDonald and although not regularly shown, Roe was awarded a further four 1st Prizes at Postgraduate Bitch and Limit classes by well-respected judges during 2012-13 (see below for show judge’s critiques).

Given Roe’s lineage it was expected that she would show an aptitude for working in the field and she did not disappoint having developed into an excellent working bitch, comfortable picking-up or deer stalking, Roe is a real pleasure to work with.

Roe is beautiful looking Vizsla with a temperament to match and she moves with a natural grace and elegance that is rarely seen and often commented upon.

Roe had her first litter in February 2013 after a successful pairing with a random outside dog that I at the time liked the look of. (True Decision) A healthy litter of truly outstanding pups was born, including Vonhubers Global Trek (Oscar) Who went on to do well in the show ring and qualifying for Crufts. Vonhubers Hope and Glory (Ellie) was of the same litter and both are testament to the Von Huber breeding ethos.

Judge Critiques For Roe

Bath 83rd Championship Dog Show May 2011

Puppy Bitch (5,1) 1st Place

Judge Christine McDonald:

Really taken with this bitch for type and natural good construction and balance. Very good front, pasterns and feet. Short back, close coupled. Did not always stand to advantage for her novice handler, so made decisions difficult. Good coat colour and texture. Just right for size, bone and condition for her age. Moved very soundly.

Border Union Agricultural Society June 2012

Judge Sara Barnard:

Good head and expression, good shoulder, short back, good bend of stifle and hocks, tight feet moved lightly and drove off from strong quarters.

Beautiful head proportion with strong jawline and lovely kind eyes, well-shaped and coloured, correct ear placement. Well-muscled neck could be longer back into shoulder firm level short back line muscular croup well-shaped and nice fit of tail. Well-ribbed back, body of depth carrying nice weight. Good angulations to both ends and depth to chest with elbows into straight nicely boned legs and tight round feet. Stylish mover and so sound both ends, great free striding side gait.

Scores in both reach and drive, keeping a very balanced profile, very well made throughout, so true coming towards, handled and shows to advantage.
